Harrie’s more than a quarter century career has spanned the globe improving yarn, fabric and garment wet processing in dozens of countries and hundreds of mills and factories. He is the primary inventor of over a dozen patents which cover most fiber types, fabric qualities, dyeing processes and functional improvements.
Harrie was the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists President in 2020 to 2021 and is currently AATCC’s Past President until 2024. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Synthetic Yarn and Fabrics Association (SYFA).
Harrie graduated from NCSU’s Wilson College of Textiles with a B.S. in Textile Chemistry, Dyeing and Finishing Concentration. He received a Licentiate from the Society of Dyers and Colourists (Lic.SDC) and was awarded the Bronze Medal of the Society in November 2024 for being a spark of networking and connectivity in the global industry. Harrie also received an MBA from Suffolk University in Boston, MA.
Fabric Figures (www.fabricfigures.com), a first of its kind calculator/app for the textile and apparel industry was founded by Harrie in 2023. This new tool allows both suppliers and buyers to understand yarn and fabric qualities in bulk assembled product orders.
Harrie is a first generation American of Dutch heritage who lives in the Dallas area with his wife and daughter.
